Propaganda Watch
Palestine: Israel’s National Security Minister said Palestinian hostages are purposefully mistreated and wants to start killing them due to “overcrowding” in prisons; another of its ministers said that “Lebanon will be annihilated.” A former Israeli PM begged settlers not to leave.
Empire: Homelessness is now illegal in parts of the US. A former US general said that, in the case of war, China “could cripple America’s ability to arm itself by cutting off supply lines.” Assange’s freedom was contingent on his silence from media and a US$500K airplane flight.
Global South: Anser Allah’s blockade has affected at least 65 countries. Unemployment in Milei’s Argentina has risen 32% in 4 months. The RSF seized another state capital in Sudan, triggering mass displacement.
Non-Taught History
Canada and its press flatly denied China’s allegations that its two citizens, Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig (known as “the two Michaels”) were spies. After their release from jail in China, the former accused Kovrig of using him for spying. He then sued the Canadian Government, which settled the matter by paying him CA$7M.
